Description

I think I'm done with Walril, the halfling rogue. At the request of the player, I've made him look younger. I have yet to receive final word from him, but I wanted to get this uploaded before I ran out of time this weekend. He's wearing pretty much the same costume, but I've added my own colors and textures. I'm not entirely pleased with the details on his shirt and boots, but I was running out of time. The real fun part will be when I put him with the rest of the party. You just can't see the size difference like this. :D

Oh, almost forgot: The only post work that was done was to put the two rendered image onto the background. I didn't do anything to the rendered images themselves.

Celtic knot-work courtesy of :iconredheadstock:, you can find the brush set at [link]. The lacing on his pants can be found at [link]. Texture brush used for the pants can be found at [link].

Changing his age is quite subtle but now he looks almost boyish. I like all the new detailing on the costume. I especially love the shoulder tabs. :)

A hint at posing boots: if you turn the toes up just a hair on your main model (in this case, Walril himself), they look more realistic. There will be an arch and if done correctly, your halfling will be standing on the balls of his feet and the heel. Conforming shoes make me nuts that way and high heels on women are the worst. Unless you pose the foot correctly with high heels it looks ridiculous (alright... high heels are ridiculous in their own right, but still ;) ). Some boots and shoes even come with foot poses to inject into your main model to make them look just as the content creator intended. ;P
